National Herdsmen’s Competition and Meeting
Driving and managing a herd is not an easy task. It requires a wide range of skills from the herdmen. On this day all those herdmen of Hungary who are working with Grey Cattle are invited to participate on a competition to challenge each other and their knowledge, skills in animal keeping and breeding.
Also there are difficult tasks to solve (like selecting a marked cattle from a herd; using of the tether or the special Hungarian ringed-whip) that make this day an unforgettable memory for both visitors and participants.
Visitors are also welcome to taste the special local “puszta” dishes which are cooked by the herdmen or by the Baking Masters of Hortobágy.
